Starting slowing down my rope and attempting to use less energy with DUs. I’ll keep ya posted
tell me more about slowing down the rope/using less energy with DUs…I’m wondering if fast rope speed is what is leading to the majority of my trips, but how would I know?
I understand exactly what Jay is saying. I used to try to whip the rope really fast around…but now I’ve slowed it down and I also have decided that if my arms are right at my sides or slightly behind me then I can keep the rope at a steadier pace. Not sure if that makes sense…
Candy is on point. I was spinning the rope as fast as possible and would sacrifice form. I’m now focusing on a consistent bounce off my front feet, elbows by my side, hands in my peripheral vision and relaxed. Spinning the rope to match a more controlled rhythmic jump. My HR is lower and stringing 10+ DUs is becoming more natural
These are good cues for me to bear in mind when practicing and doing DUs. Thanks.
I’d be lying if i said i wasn’t jealous of your DU progress – nice job Jay

Some motivation for you all. You have to check out the end of the video. When going heavy, sometimes we fail, yet it could be the slightest bit of technique that just wasn’t happening at the right time – if we stay positive and keep at it while correcting the timing/technique, we can give ourselves the chance to succeed at a missed weight. Most of the time, when I miss a heavy lift, I just think, oh I went too heavy or today wasn’t my day and I don’t try again.

damn, now that’s some perseverance
agreed. I had a few fails this morning, but I kept thinking about this guy and kept at it.

Wes, I have kind of a crazy question. Since you happen to be in Denver and I am looking at a vehicle there…
Let me know if you have a minute and would consider possibly helping me out. I don’t know anyone else in the area. Anyway, feel free to decline if you aren’t comfortable.
No problem! Shoot me a text or call three zero three 3457384
Hi everyone! Hope you all have been crushing it. I’ve been out of the gym for about a month, doing some work travel and some backpacking trips with the wife. We wanted to get it all in before out first kid arrives. A little sluggish on the strength today, as I didn’t do much weight lifting, but cardio feels good. A.) up to 115 x 3 . Went for 125 and failed. which normally would have been pretty easy, but not after the time off. B.) 14, 14, 13 at 90 pounds. 400 took about 1:30, and double unders were… Read more »
Fast 400s! Smart thinking about getting it all in before kiddo #1 arrives. Happy early Father’s Day!
Thanks Wes. Good luck on the workout today!
Congrats on the first baby! Very smart to get some of that stuff done beforehand. Awesome work today, you crushed it. Welcome back
Congrats – best of luck – the fog of new parenthood is thick the first three months but it does get better …
yea if i figure my sleep/energy is going to be shot a bit at first
It’s not the first few months that get you… Unless you’re baby is really colicky. It’s at about 4-6 months when you’re gonna have to embrace the grind ?
haha, when the second one is around 4-6 months and the first one a little over 2 years old, that was the WORST! But Chris is right it does get better… lol
due date? Being a parent is such an adventure. Congrats!
right around halloween. Ready for the adventure (I think)

Just started doing it this week. Still trying to work on positioning to make sure I’m hitting the right places. If you have any tips feel free to share!
Likewise. I just started so I am playing with technique but if anything stands out I will share. I just really like how well it blasts all the ancillary core muscles.
Super impressive B Michael!

Kidding. Strong press, Chris.
