I have been unable to fit the programming and worse my diet for the past 2 weeks so That was very humbling. Now it’s back to eating right and working hard.

A. Maxed out at 165×3. I kind of lost my grip between reps, so that explains the weird half deadlift…

https://youtu.be/eGkoVgRFsdo

B. 1:37/9:50 (45 lbs)

I think 45 pounds may have been a bit much. I hadn’t done man makers before. I did squat cleans for the first 12 and did ground to shoulders (deadlift + a lazy curl…) for the remaining 18.

Pull that bar in closer to your body! Watch your video again… notice all of that space between you and the bar? Need to keep your lats active as you jump and the moment your legs have done their job, the arms have to give a strong pull. Pretend like your trying to clean that barbell in a super skinny hallway and pull it in super tight! 🙂 Great work and thank you for sharing the video! It’s a great way to learn and grow

B. 1:38 & 6:10 with 35lb dbs. Freaking. Man. Makers. That was tough. Did 15-5-5-5 and it took all I had to get through the last 5 unbroken.

Thanks! I just kept telling myself if I can make it halfway before I take a break it will be down hill from there.
Not sure who to attribute the quote to but “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” That pretty much sums up man-makers for me.

Been out of the routine for a while, but I stumbled on Invictus looking for a program that fit my goals and life stage. M/30/5’10/205

1. 95×1 115×2 135×4 155×3 Just wanted to stretch out everything.
2. Subbed rowing with Assault Bike for .5 miles; 1:35
Subbed man-makers with double pushup burpees (only have 53lb KBs at home, and I’m not a masochist)

Just joined the program so hoping to get a lot of feed back. No formal training with crossfit or Olympic lifts, a buddy introduced it to me a couple of years agoand I loved it. So now I just workout with friends and work on technique and mobility by watching video and reading. Im 28, 6′ 185lbs, and in the military. Looking forward to this with you guys

I think I’ve got a pinched nerve, Catherine. Most days I’m fine and I feel nothing, other days I bend over to pick up a broomstick and out it goes. Then I can’t do any squatting motion for a day or two. It’s really frustrating. Do you have any recommendations for working it out?

Thanks for your concern 🙂

Oh Man!! Really depends. Where is the pain located on the hip? Have you gone in for any treatment?

Christopher Gransbury

It’s mostly in my lower back, so I think it’s a nerve issue but I never experience any numbness or tingling. ROMWOD seems to help a lot so I think I’ll keep doing that. I’ve had it looked at but military doctors seem to try and do everything the easiest and cheapest way, so that didn’t go anywhere. They told me take some rest and stop lifting heavy weights….soooo I didn’t value that opinion.

Actually a lot better! ROMWOD has been doing wonders for me. Unfortunately though, I pulled a muscle in my side recently. Seems to always be something! I’m trying to get back at it today though. Thanks for asking 🙂

Thanks guys

The 65# is just an example – you should choose a weight that best suits you.

Great point, Chris! I’d say that 65# is quite an aggressive weight for this workout. Even 55/35 will get pretty spicy for the stronger guys/gals. Pick a weight that is challenging yet you can still continue to move i.e you’re not resting more than you’re working.
