For time:
Run 1.5 Miles
Swim 500 Meters
Run 1.5 Miles
Warm-up for this just like you would for the actual event. Please have someone make a note of your splits on your runs and swim. If you need to do this in a pool then just note the transition time of getting into the pool.

Did this Saturday at Suttle Lake in Central Oregon. My run ended up being 1.7+ miles each time instead of 1.5…oops! So runs were at least 1:30 mins longer than should have been!

Transition: 0:23
Run: 13:13
Total: 37:58 (3.4 miles ran)

Trans 2, 1:20 had to navigate some reef, low tide
Run 2, 12:20
Hahaha I love it! Nice work Matt – you are a fast swimmer!
Hah! I’m pretty sure you were in and out of the swim while I was doing everything I could to stay afloat mid way. 🙂
Ha, 10:40…geez, are you part Kenyan?
I ran 1.5 approx 11:40 then 10:50 on 500m swim then ran 800m 3:37
I swam in pool since the pacific is soooo much easier for me- the buoyancy makes all the difference
Done @ Lake. GPS was set to yards so I only ended up swimming 475 meters although it was legit on all distances. Transition time was simply a run through the beach house to the beach.
Total time including transitions: 34:58
Run 1: 10:40
Transition to water: :13
Swim: 11:20 (a little slow and got panicked a few times. Had to check watch every 75M or so and do turnarounds about every 90M without a wall and no touchdowns.)
Transition back to run: :30 (A little slower putting things back on)
Run 2: 12:12
Great work Brent!! Not having the wall to touch can be a mental barrier to overcome, even though it doesn’t provide much rest (more a safety aspect for your peace of mind). So I am really glad you were able to swim almost 500 meters and swam it well!! GREAT JOB!
