Finally did 17.3 today… 118 reps … Tiebreak time of 11:47.
Had a couple misses on the first set of the 135 bar… then finally found a rhythm. got under the first attempt at 155 pounds but missed… Hit the second one… Sent the third one over and behind me… missed the last attempt!
Overall I’m happy with it considering a couple days ago I didn’t even know if I was going to be able to squat snatch.
17.3 – 117 reps – tie break 11:21. No misses. Redo on Monday, but need to tighten-up setup to get the 225.
17.3 43 reps, tiebreak 4:08.
The strength is there for 135, just not the technique. I’m getting under the bar in a squat but not catching it in a good enough position and dump it before I can stand it up.
3 rounds of the bonus work before someone stole the AB, can’t say I was to disappointed.
A. 17.3 RX 43 reps Big victory for me was squat snatching without pain, and feeling strong and confident in the position! I’ve been doing a lot of shoulder/upper body and core strengthening and mobility this year, and it paid off. I had time for a couple of attempts at 95, which would have been a pr for a full snatch, and I was getting the bar high enough but was not able to drop quickly enough underneath it to catch. But it’s coming. Honestly, I have not been practicing full snatches at all bc of the discomfort, and now… Read more »
This is wonderful to hear Miki, I am so happy to hear that!! Spending time to work on mobility and activation work absolutely pays off. Really happy to hear this!
17.3 = 43 reps. No chance I’ll see 135#. Plowed through the extra session but NFT.
Great work Rodney!
17.3: 93 reps / TBT = 7:40
Only missed 1 snatch (185) and felt great, but went a little too hot off the gate. I will redo it on Monday…hope to get to the 10th round by pacing and breathing better. I want that one snatch at 225!
A: Complete RX
17.3: ran out of time at 8:00
42 reps
Bonus round completed due to not making it past 12 minutes
*only got through 95 lbs snatch round, but as a side note, tried 135 lbs, missed twice, hit it last try. Small victories. Congrats to others for great times!!!
Nice work Michael!
Any suggestions on progressions for snatch and for cleans? New to these lifts and want to get my numbers up.
I would suggest working from blocks when we are doing positional work – that will help get you into the right positions and will allow you more time to ‘feel’ those positions
102 reps: 7:04 for the tie breaker
Awesome job Corey!
Thanks Nichole! Best part is it’s the first time snatching that heavy with no shoulder pain also. Issue is still there just not bothering me.
I just got involved Corey. Nice job and good luck on the redo today!
Did 17.3 thismorning…going back for the extra work. Planning to re-do on Sunday.
Extra work, 12:29
80 reps for me and 4 misses at 185#. Definitely trying again. Fun wod!
80 reps. (7:00) failed 185# almost got 1. guess i will have to redo on monday. 81 reps is going to be a huge separator!
You got that Tom!
17.3 47 reps. Not amazing score but one that I am happy with nonetheless. My 1RM snatch is 140# so to be able to hit 4 reps made for good finish to 17.3.
That is awesome Dean! That was your main event and you hit 4 reps at 97% of your 1-rm snatch – fantastic work!
Thanks Nichole! Looking forward to finishing up the Open strong and then start the off season to keep working on my strength.
Nice job!
Thanks Joe!
nicely done!
Hey Nichole, If I redo 17.1 on Sat, should I still do the post w/o wod (score of 58-paced to much) or just redo it on Monday?
Hey Ian! Are you referring to 17.3? Did you do it today? If so then don’t do it tonight. I would wait and do it on Monday. Still do the secondary workout and then Saturdays training. Rest Sunday and hit it again on Monday.
Thanks Nichole! best of luck to you on 17.3!
17.3, 80reps @7:29. 185 Sn failed x4. Let the time run out
RX for 55+ is Chin over bar pull-ups – not chest to bar.
Thank you Kathy! I was wondering about that last night but when I checked I saw it chest-to-bars! I must have missed it in my late night delirium!
