More Than Just A Gym

Are you bored with your current routine? Are you not sure where to start because you haven’t done this before? Are you looking for a community of like minded individuals? We have a VARIETY of classes that will keep things interesting, new and you don’t need any experience to get started. Through group classes, semi-private, or private training we provide a path to get you where you want to be. And the best part is you’ll be surrounded by members and coaches invested in your success.

Invictus Fitness is a strength and conditioning gym in Downtown San Diego, offering group workouts and private training for all fitness levels and goals. Our professional team of coaches are experts at getting you the best workout for your needs in a safe and supportive environment.

You will also find a community of like-minded people to support you within our walls in the other members you meet. Our convenient location in East Village is a 15,000 sq. ft., state of the art facility with two separate training rooms, which allows us to offer multiple coached sessions at a time so you can find the one you love the most.

The gym also contains full service locker rooms which makes this the perfect place for locals as well as busy business professionals to train and then get on their way.

Chat with a Coach

During your consultation session, the coach will get to know you, your goals and any previous history you have with fitness and general health. These sessions are highly individualized and can span topics from nutrition to previous injuries. Then we’ll help determine and create a workout plan that is personalized for you. No matter what fitness experience you have, our coaches will meet you where you’re at and make you feel at home! Most importantly, you’ll be introduced to the Invictus culture—a family of like-minded people who are passionate, knowledgeable and want you to reach your fitness goals.

Types of workouts

  • Bodybuilding
  • Cardio
  • CrossFit
  • Powerlifting

  • … and more!

Our professional coaching staff and community are the most compelling reasons to be part of Invictus, but we also offer some more tangible benefits that you’re unlikely to find elsewhere.

We offer more than 11 group coaching sessions per day, 7 different goal-based programs (everything from guided nutrition programs to Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit). We have dedicated kids’ areas, showers and towel service – among a host of other membership benefits.

Best of all, as a member, you’ll have a dedicated coach that is not only there to educate you and fix form, but they also serve as your guide and support person.  They will help you customize your workouts and experience so you can be sure to reach whatever goal or goals keep you coming in.

Drop-In Policy

Out-of-town visitors are welcome to drop into any of our normally scheduled group coaching sessions for $30 per visit or $85 for a week. The joy of CrossFit has always been in the community of amazing individuals, and we never want to lose sight of that.

Open Gym Policy

Invictus is an all-coaching facility. We have a staff of expert coaches and want all of our members and visitors to benefit from them. However, we do offer open gym from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays. We will always do our best to accommodate open gym guests, but our regularly scheduled group and private sessions will have priority over space and equipment.

Is there a kids area? Is it supervised?

Yes, there is a kids’ area where you can see your little ones and they can see you while you workout. The area is not supervised and Invictus is not responsible for activities carried out in the kids’ area.

Private Coaching

Invictus coaches are available for private coaching sessions throughout the day. To inquire about or schedule private coaching with an Invictus coach, please give us a call at (619) 231-3000.

Have an injury?

We know some of the biggest worries people have about starting at a new gym is whether or not they can do all the workouts. This is a legitimate concern with any new workout regimen and we are proud that our world-class coaches expertly customize the workouts for and watch each member to ensure workouts are challenging, yet doable, and safe for each individual.
Whether you’re coming in with an acute injury or have a rap sheet of chronic problems and pains, we’ve got you covered. Our coaches are experts at customizing workouts and prescribing exercises to not only work around your limitations, but also help you to improve them with corrective exercises and mobility work.

Is Invictus only for competitors

Invictus has enjoyed competitive success in the sport of CrossFit, but our competitive athletes make up less than 1% of the people we serve. The vast majority of our members are looking to improve their health and vitality, not compete.

Am I fit enough for Invictus

You don’t have to be of any certain ‘fitness level’ to start a workout program, especially not at Invictus. When you look around the gym at any given time, you will see all types of people who are enjoying the camaraderie of participating in the same workout as each other while doing completely different versions based on their level of fitness or comfort with the movement.

Bio

I started coaching after my seventh year of doing CrossFit after CrossFit and some amazing coaches helped support me in my uphill battle to find myself in the outside world. I began coaching at a gym in Northern California, where I had the opportunity to develop my coaching skills and is where I obtained certifications in Level 1 Weightlifting and Level 1 & 2 CrossFit. The highlights of my coaching career include coaching the Pleasant Valley High School cheerleaders in CrossFit, co-leading a week-long kids’ fitness camp with my best friend, coaching a youth baseball team’s strength and conditioning program, providing one-on-one remote personal training for mothers returning to health and wellness—including my own mother, who lost 100 pounds in a year—and coaching an at-risk youth program for two summers.

Why I Coach:
“I coach to help people build a better relationship with the person they see in the mirror.”
