Hi!

I am sure everyone is wondering when to attack the Open workouts. Our ideal schedule would be for you to attack the Open workout on Friday, rest on Saturday or do some light circulatory work, then hit the Open workout again on Sunday, rest on Monday. This would be our ideal schedule.

If you do plan on following the above schedule, then plan to train on Tuesday and Wednesday, rest on Thursday and be ready to hit it hard on Friday for your first crack at the Open workout.

Just like last year, we will be posting some strategy notes Friday morning on how best to attack the Open workout. Trust in yourself and all the hard work you’ve put into training! Looking forward to the 2016 Open Season!

We would like to take a survey and see when you all plan on attacking the workouts. We would advise you to not do the Open workout any later then 3:00 p.m. PST on Monday.

Please let us know if:

1 – You plan on doing the workout twice and

2 – If so, will you be doing it on Sunday or Monday?

Thanks everyone!

A – M1: 4 (strict) M2: 8 B – up to 165#. Kept it really light. C – 5:45 WB (20/10/8/7/5…kept rest very quick between smaller sets) D – Done. Open workouts…I have a decision to make. To do or not to do. Two weeks ago I throttled way back on squatting and overhead lifts to see if it would help my hip adductor tendon, which has been steadily sore for almost a year. For the first time, it is actually dramatically improving. Best I have felt in almost a year. I’m now worried that going after these workouts might… Read more »

Havent shared my daily training results as much as I should due to being so busy. I have made some major strides and feeling really good right now. I will be doing the open on Friday and then, like last year, mid day Monday. Last year I increased my numbers on Monday. Love the programming and intend to start posting my daily results. This is one impressive group of Masters!

I plan on Friday mid morning and if feel the need to do It again than Monday morning. Depending on the WOD in the past my first attempt has always been better than the second. I’m super excited for this year. Last week I hit a 1rm in clean & snatch and now have a muscle up. Best of luck everyone. I know you’ve all trained hard!!! Thanks

5 SHSPU

B up to 225# all power to take it easy on the squatting
Felt rough today

C. 5:35 paced assault bike kept the RPM between 60-65
Wallballs UB Happy with this for sure

I plan on doing the open workout on Friday. One and done no repeat “I say that now” 🙂

Here’s what I’m currently thinking which could all change depending on the workout and how I’m feeling:
1) majority of the time I’ve improved my score the second time so will try to do them twice
2) If doing twice then Friday night and Sunday afternoon

A. 3 MUs / 5 SHSPUs did full MU to keep rhythm
B. Up to 225 (hang PC)
C. 5:29 with THE dreaded Assualt bike and 20/10/10/5/5 WBs

Mob done
A. 2 MU 5 HSPU
B. 185 up to 255, good session for me.
C. No assault bike so I rowed. Row – 2:02, WB -1:54
D. Done
I plan on doing Open workouts on Friday. If I attempted a second time it would be on Monday. In the past I have not attempted many a second time. I like to consider my proficiency at the movements and how I feel on Monday. I am cautious about chasing one workout down and taking away from the next one. For me it depends.

A. MU’s – sets of 2/ SHSPU’s – sets of 15 – Had a few of the other coaches watch to see if I am getting full lock out at the bottom when I link my MU’s. I still use a ‘partial false-grip’ and it seems it is borderline. May have to go back to singles where I can ‘turn’ my hands to achieve full lock out. B. HC & J – 95/105/115/125/135/145/150/155(f)/155(f) Stopped here since I had spent extra time on part A. Running short on time! C. 50 Cal Row with 50 WBS – 5:37 (row 2:57) WBS… Read more »
