Movement Standards:
Clean & Jerk – This movement begins with the barbell on the ground. The top position will be successfully achieved when the athlete demonstrates control of the barbell in a fully extended overhead position – the barbell overhead directly aligned over the shoulders, hips and ankles. Athletes may use any means of getting the barbell overhead that they choose.

Deadlift – The deadlift must be performed with the hands outside the knees. Sumo deadlifts are not allowed. Starting at the floor, the barbell is lifted until hips and knees reach full extension with the shoulders behind the barbell. The arms must be straight throughout.

Bar-Facing Burpees Over the Barbell – Each burpee must be performed perpendicular to and facing the barbell. The athlete’s head cannot be over the barbell. The chest and thighs touch the ground at the bottom. The athlete must jump over the barbell from both feet and land on both feet. One-footed jumping or stepping over is not permitted. The next rep will begin on the opposite side facing the barbell. Standard-sized bumper plates must be used on the barbell.

Assault Bike – The Assault Bike will be set for calories. Athlete must stay seated until the monitor shows that the athlete has reached the prescribed number of calories.

Thrusters – This is a standard barbell thruster in which the barbell moves from the bottom of a squat with the barbell in the front rack position to full lockout overhead. The hip crease must pass below the knees. A squat clean into the thruster is allowed if the bar is on the ground. At the top, the barbell must be over the center of the body with the hips, knees and arms fully extended.

Strict Handstand Push-Up – This movement begins at the top of a handstand with the arms fully locked out, the heels on the wall and the hips open with the body in line with the arms. The hands must be placed within a clearly marked area. The marked area must be a 36-by-24-inch box, and the palm of the hand must be placed within the clearly marked area (fingers may extend out of the box). At the bottom of each rep, the athlete’s head must touch the mat. At the top of each rep, the athlete must return to a fully locked out position with the heels on the wall and the feet within the width of the marked area. Kipping is not allowed. The athlete’s hips may not touch the wall, and their legs must remain straight.

Ring Muscle-Ups – In the bottom position the athlete must hang with fully extended elbows. At the top position the athlete must fully extend the elbows with the shoulder directly above the wrist and elbow. Kipping is allowed, but swings or rolls to support are not permitted. If the heels rise above the bottom of the rings during the kip, it is a no rep.

Push Press: Each rep of the push press begins with the barbell on the shoulders and finishes with the weight fully locked out overhead and over the middle of the body. The athlete may dip and drive with the legs while the weight is on the shoulders. However, once the barbell leaves the shoulder, the hips and knees must remain straight until the weight is locked out overhead. No jerks. At the top, the elbow, shoulder, hips and knees are fully extended, and the bar finishes directly over the body with the feet in line. Using a rack is not permitted.

Event 9: 275# – PC & J (hip bothering me so didn’t want to push it with SC)
Event 10: 3:52 (hamstrings were lit up)
Event 11: 17:05. Not Rx’d – sub’d 75 cal AD instead of AB

No access to assault bike last few days so didn’t register for this one but had a blast. Thanks for the competition Invictus!

9. 237 wow my jerk is bad right now this was basically a push jerk. Think I could bet more but form was bad today
10 5:35. Deadlifts felt heavy
11. 26:35. Wow this was much harder then I thought, actually embarrased by this result. I not even sure where the time went.

Overall a fun comp enjoyed the challenge

Event 9 – 120#
Event 10 – 3:47 @ 120# DL
Event 11 – no score as I don’t have SHSPUs.
Worked a little more on my BMUs – will upload a sampling of my failed attempts to the FB page.
Thanks for putting together the competition. I definitely know what I need to work on over the next couple of months. And next year, I will be able to complete ALL events!

Wednesdays are typically my busy day, and today was really busy with some volunteer “gansta wrapping” i did today. So modified a version of today’s performance side.

Warmed up with my low impact class…we played a game of dirty santa 😉

Then completed
1:00 wall sit
:30 hollow holds
20 banded clam shells each side
20 superman

Wod:
5rds for time
80 airdyne pumps each arm (about :75)
8 strict pullups
20 abmat situps (my grip couldn’t take anymore bar!)
16 pushups
18:15

9. 225#
10. 3:43
11. 21:57. Didn’t play out at all like I thought it would. In rounds 2 & 3 I actually lost the ability to catch in the dip of the MUs. Never happened before. So I switched to strict singles since I can pull faster and tighter. Solved my problem but slowed me down. Everything else was fine.

Thank you Nichole and the rest of the Invictus crew for all your effort and patience! This was a lot of fun and a great challenge.

10. 3:59
11. Two of my worst movements- SHPU and RMU. It was a long day of singles on those 🙂
Still need to build some capacity/volume here.
28:48. Got it done…
Thanks to the coaches and staff for putting this on. It was definitely fun and great test of fitness in ALL areas.

So when can we look forward to the 12 Days…? ?

Great work everyone! Event 9: 155# (just under a recent 1rm) Event 10: 3:22 those are good movements for me Event 11: Scaled to 5 strict dips, didn’t pay attention to time I’m going to piggyback on what Joe said. Last year I didn’t even finish the comp because it was too difficult for me, this year I couldn’t complete the final 10 reps of event 5 and I scaled the ring mu with dips on event 11, next year I will Rx all workouts. Everyone should be proud of making through this competition, as it’s not easy. Now for… Read more »

Event 9 – Did a lift at 145 just to get a score. Went up to 170, which would have been a 10lb. PR. Squat cleaned it fairly easily but when I stood it up I ‘went all light headed’ and then dropped the bar and then staggered over to the wall. Never had that happen before. Not sure if I had the too tight against my neck in the front rack position. Tried it again at 170, made the clean but again got light headed so I dropped the bar. Should have maybe stripped 10 lb. off before attempting… Read more »

9) 245 (5# PR!)
10) 3:43 – all UB. Very happy with this one
11) 29:57 – strict HSPU are a major weakness (and especially coupled with thrusters/MU and a bum shoulder), so just happy I was able to complete it RX. Had to do singles on HSPU the last 1.5 rounds
Overall – had a great time doing this. I wasn’t able to complete all of the events RX last year, so I am pumped I could do all 11 events RX this year. Next year – will do them faster!
