Congratulations to All Invictus Masters Athletes

What a great way to end the Masters Qualifier Program. We have seen countless olympic lifting personal records, men and women getting their first muscle-up (followed by several more), and tons of improvements in events that some never thought possible. It has been incredible to see so much improvement across the board. Even more impressive to see has been the amazing community that you all have developed over the past few weeks. That is what this community is about, and you all have embodied the Invictus spirit by supporting each others accomplishments and pushing each other to achieve greater things.

You also put your heart and soul into this past weekends events, truly displaying the Invictus mindset and one of our favorite mantras – “Satisfaction lies in the effort, not the achievement; full effort is full victory”-Mahatma Ghandi

. We couldn’t be more proud of the effort you each put into training and competing. Whether you placed 1st or 200th, we are thankful to have been a small part of your journey these past few weeks and hope that we can continue to make an impact on your journey in sport, health and fitness.

So What’s Next?

We noticed several familiar names on the leaderboard in qualifying spots, and we’re very excited for all of those moving on to the CrossFit Games. We will not abandon you as you approach your training for the 2015 CrossFit Games. We will take this week to gather as much information as we can get about who is heading to the CrossFit Games so that we can make that preparation program as focused and directed toward our athletes’ success as possible. Please keep an eye on your email starting on Tuesday, April 28 for a survey asking about your experience with the Masters Qualifier Program and for more information as to how we can help you moving forward.

For those of you who will not be moving on to the CrossFit Games in July, we have already devised a good off-season training plan for you all that will start on Monday, May 4. I strongly suggest doing as little as you can tolerate doing in the gym until then. Get outside, use your incredible fitness to do some really fun things and stay active…but give yourself a break from the gym for a week. Our initial off-season cycle will be focused on foundational strength, Olympic weightlifting technique and building your aerobic base…and as always, mobility. It is designed to set you up to better handle the rigors of training later in the year. We think you’ll love it, and look forward to sharing it with you.

Now take this week to get some well needed rest and bask in your accomplishments!

Thank you again for allowing Invictus to be part of this incredible season with you. We’re honored to be able to help the amazing members of this community.

Sincerely, C.J. Martin and Nichole DeHart

I was mainly inspired by the athletes and their prowess. I got hurt somehow as the MQ week commenced. i Woke up one morning AFTER A REST DAY where all I did was some easy movement work with what feels like hernia as well as major neck stiffness starting in mid back. Chiropractic attention got me at least able to get in there and give them 4 sessions my best but I slipped 34 places to 124 in 50-54M. I hope to check in for a new start in the next week or two but got to see whats going… Read more »

Been following the Invictus regular competitor program for 2 plus years! Love the programing and the commentary. I am going to keep following and get more involved in this chat since there seems to be some amazing ppl on it! I then followed the Masters Qualifier prep program this past 3 weeks…. Again – great stuff… and I really like how you all really take time to write in reasons and examples of things… You really make us feel as if you are truly taking a lot of consideration and time in planning! I placed 74th in my very first… Read more »

I started following Invictus programming about a year and a half ago. In 2014 I finished 50th in world after the masters qualifier 45-49. This year I finished 184th after the open and ended up at 82nd after the qualifier workouts. Moving up over 100 spots says something about preparation and programming. Following Invictus programming for the last year and a half has gotten me where I am at today. CJ Martin has proven he knows how to program. Just look at the number of athletes that follow his programming that end up at the regionals and the games. Good… Read more »

I had always tried to participate in this chat since the first day I joined, it was great I did that, because even if I do not know any of you in person (athletes and coaches) I have this nice feeling you are true and close.
Thanks for this great work you did for us these last months. I got so much better in everything in so little time.
I am in your team for sure !
Let’s go for some more. Merci !

Been Following Invictus for 2 plus years. Switched to Master’s programming in January of this year. Last year placed 538 at the end of the open. This year about 80th after the Master’s Qualifiers. So excited to continue following such a well rounded, effective program. Switching to the Master’s Program allowed me to let my guard down and not worry about modifying the Competition Programming. Thank you for putting your time and energy into this program. I’m excited to continue with this next cycle and see what the next year brings! Congrats to everyone who made it to the Games.… Read more »

I would like to say thank you to the invictus crew. You nailed it as usual. I did do a little extra snatch training and it did pay off with a 17lb pr for that event. Ended up 49th in 45-49 category. Would love to see a stat as to how many top 200 masters follow InVictus programming. I am sure it is a lot!

A small group of us started following Invictus about 6 mths ago and I honestly can’t say enough great things about your programming. I didn’t just get physically stronger, I got mentally stronger! I no longer “feared” wods, I felt ready to go after them! Don’t get me wrong I still say Oh Shit when my dreaded movements come up but I get through them! I’m inspired every single day by me fellow crossfitters and coaches and feel incredibly blessed to be part of something positive! I finished 79th (around that) in my age division which I’m extremely pumped about..… Read more »

Probably the coolest post ever. We love training, and we love this sport, but we got into coaching to help people grow and progress in all aspects of their lives. We can do that when we push ourselves in a controlled environment like the gym, and then learn that overcoming obstacles and doing the unthinkable can be trained to become a habit. I LOVE that you have gained confidence in yourself and your abilities, and hope that it carries over into every other aspect of your life. Thank you so much for the great comment Holly!
