Mission Accomplished

Deep sigh. It’s over. Goals achieved; mission accomplished.
Team Invictus will be making it’s EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE appearance at the CrossFit Games!
Lauren Fisher won the California Regionals and is heading back to Carson!
Rasmus Wisbech Andersen earned Second Place and his first trip to the CrossFit Games as an individual!
Josh Bridges earned First Place and looks poised to win the CrossFit Games!
Garrett Fisher earned a return trip to Games, and he and Lauren will be the first siblings at Games!
Bryan Miller, Nuno Costa, Cat Blatner and Team Invictus Unconquerable finished 11th, 12th, 19th and 13th respectively, and made us proud with every performance.
Team Invictus was not only outstanding athletically, but they demonstrated the character and ability to overcome adversity that we preach at Invictus. It wasn’t easy, but they earned a solid Third Place finish to secure our eighth straight Games appearance. Huge congratulations to Heather Hippensteel, Maddy Myers, Meaghan Gonzalez, Bryce Smith, Hunter Britt and Holden Rethwill, as well as Rebecca Delaney and Gaje McDaniel on the months of hard work that led to securing their trip to the CrossFit Games!
Lauren Fisher dominated the weekend, showing that she is back and stronger than ever. Words can’t express how proud I am of Lauren’s growth and maturity over the last year. She competed like a composed veteran all weekend, and with steady, even performances won first place in a stacked region.
Rasmus Wisbech Andersen is going to the CrossFit Games! After joining Team Invictus the last two years at Games, Rasmus punched his ticket for a return trip in 2016 as an individual. Rasmus put together consistent performances all weekend to earn his second place finish, and first trip to Games! He’ll be joined by our long-time friend, and the athlete that I have personally learned more from than any other, Josh Bridges. Josh showed that he has what it takes to win it all this year with strong performances all weekend long. Garrett Fisher, Lauren’s brother and recent transplant to San Diego, also earned his return trip to the CrossFit Games, finishing strong to secure his spot. It’s going to be fun training in San Diego for these guys over the next couple of months.
Bryan Miller, Nuno Costa, Cat Blatner and Team Invictus Unconquerable competed brilliantly and inspired the Sea of Green all weekend long. Competition is where we have a chance to test ourselves and inspire others, and they certainly accomplished that. They will return to coaching at Invictus with a massive amount of respect and admiration for everything they did over the weekend.
Many thanks to the best group of coaches I could ever hope to work with in Tino Marini, Nichole DeHart, Julien Pineau, Travis Ewart and Heidi Fearon. A lot of work, care and support goes into assisting our athletes, and without these unbelievably talented and caring coaches, I would never have felt as confident about what was possible for our athletes.
Finally, thank you to the SEA OF GREEN for giving us not only support, but also purpose. Inspiring the members of our community and constantly striving to become better for you all is why most of us coach and compete. Thank you for coming out in droves to support all of the Invictus athletes!
