Jenny LaBaw is ‘Moving Mountains’
Written by Nichole DeHart
On September 19th, 2015, 2-time CrossFit Games competitor Jenny LaBaw will be embarking on one of the biggest feats she’s ever tackled – she plans to run 500 miles across the Rocky Mountains to raise awareness for Epilepsy. She is continuing to inspire by raising awareness for those who are epileptic and raising money for a condition that still has no cure.
Epilepsy, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the condition, is known as a seizure disorder. Seizures in epilepsy patients are caused by disturbances in the electrical activity of the brain, and often the cause of seizures are unknown. There are 65 million people around the world who suffer from epilepsy.
Jenny is one of the 65 million who has been diagnosed with epilepsy. She has never allowed this condition to hold her back from accomplishing any of her dreams, especially her athletic dreams. She has continually proved to be an inspiration to millions around the world. Many who have epilepsy struggle with sharing their story and revealing their condition but ‘Move Mountains‘ is an effort to get people to start talking.

Jenny thank you so much I to deal with epilepsy and just yesterday had surgery to help. Had a VNS placed in my body. I just told a very close friend that your story was on action news now the day after my surgery really helps me alot to see people still go on with their lives even with having epilepsy.
Run, Jenny! Sorry I couldn’t help myself. 🙂 Super proud of all Jenny’s accomplishments for herself and others.
