Farewell, Sea of Green!

To my friends in the Sea of Green:
On Saturday at 1:00 pm, I start my new career as a trophy boyfriend. My girlfriend, Christina, is designing for Ralph Lauren in New York City, and I plan to join her. While I am super proud of her, I am upset to be leaving Invictus, and 266 sunny days a year.
I remember researching CrossFit affiliates as a young stable boy in Columbus, Ohio, and wondering what exactly made Invictus so special.  After six months on the gym floor, I can unequivocally say that the answer is you. The coaching staff does an excellent job of facilitating community amongst members, but that effort isn’t worth a dime unless there are a lot of awesome people working toward the shared goal of self improvement.
For those who wish to join me for a refreshing farewell beverage, I’ll be at Station in South Park on Saturday from 5-7 pm. Please feel free to keep in touch via Facebook or my nutritional blog.
So keep improving yourself, and keep improving those around you. It was an honor to work with all of you.
(CJ’s Note – This is very sad for all of us on staff at Invictus. John came to Invictus pretty green, but eager to learn. It was obvious during his interview for an internship that he would not only develop into a great coach, but would be an enormous asset to any community he joined. In a short amount of time, John has become extremely knowledgeable. He intuitively understood what makes this community tick and quickly assimilated as if he had been a long-time member of the Invictus family. We are sad to see John leave, but confident that he will do amazing things and be a huge success in any future endeavor upon which he embarks.)
Best of luck to you and Christina! Comp group will miss you!
