Chocolate Avocado Mousse – a Truly Sinless Thanksgiving Dessert
Written by Michele Vieux

Finally a truly sinless and guilt-free dessert that you can be proud to serve at your Thanksgiving table! This one is packed full of healthy fats from the avocado and coconut cream and has an extremely low carb content (only about 1 net carb per serving). I’ve heard whisperings of using avocado in this way and decided to come up with an extremely simple version of my own that doesn’t require melting chocolate in a double-boiler. If you know how to do that and don’t mind melting down a couple squares, go for it – it will only make the recipe that much better but it isn’t necessary in my version. What I really like about this one is the chantilly cream consistency of the mousse – it’s like the real thing!

Ingredients

2 large, very ripe avocados

½ can coconut cream (equal to: 1 ¼ cups/7 ounces)

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

½ teaspoon vanilla

1 gram (1 packet) Stevia

pinch of salt

Directions

Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth. Pour into covered dish and refrigerate for at least two hours. It’s delicious on it’s own but don’t hesitate to top it with anything you like – dark chocolate bits, shaved coconut, berries, chopped nuts, or whatever else you like!

I make this all the time!!! I use a little bit of honey vs the stevia. I also make the most wonderful sorbet by leaving out the cocoa and adding frozen berries. Sooooooo of sinfully (but not) yummy!
