Kirsten found CrossFit as an athlete in 2011 after retiring from rugby. In search of something that would fill the void of a lifetime of dedication to team sports, CrossFit fit the bill immediately. The community aspect and intensity of workouts was addicting. In 2014 Kirsten began coaching, and became a head coach at York Street CrossFit in Denver, CO and was a member of the Crossfit 720 Regional team in 2016. Kirsten joined the Invictus coaching staff in 2016. She holds a number of CrossFit certifications and has participated in others including Catalyst Athletics Weightlifting, Diane Fu, and Onnit.
Prior to Crossfit, Kirsten was a competitive soccer and rugby player at Dartmouth College, where she became a two-time First Team All American and represented the U.S. on the Women’s 7’s rugby team. When She’s not coaching – you’ll find Kirsten out on adventures with her dog or boogie boarding in the Pacific.
Kirsten believes physical growth is always accompanied by personal and emotional growth. Self-confidence, mental strength, patience – these qualities bleed into, and enrich all aspects of our life outside of the gym – personal relationships, career success, life outlook. She particularly enjoys seeing the personal transformation that people experience through CrossFit, beyond the physical change.
