Kaitlyn grew up playing soccer on a nationally ranked competitive team and also participated in track & field and volleyball as a youth. She then found CrossFit and after doing group classes for six months, she knew she wanted to coach others because of how CrossFit impacted her life – creating a shift in mentality from “how I looked and how much I weighed” to having more strength-based goals. She especially loves coaching women – helping them also find a healthier mentality about exercise and body image – and anyone who is goal-oriented.
As both a coach and competitive CrossFit athlete, she considers herself more of a generalist but consistent with everything. Her goal is to compete and help others compete at the highest possible level. She has competed at Regionals twice as an individual and twice on a team and was on the CrossFit Davis Games Team in 2016.
Her goal has always been to move to San Diego as her father is from the area and she vacationed here growing up. She came to Invictus to grow as an athlete and coach and says she grew more in her first month at Invictus than she did in five previous years of coaching.
Kaitlyn has a degree in Political Science and International Relations from UC Davis; is passionate about her two cats – Kenny and Chloe – who are her pride and joy; and loves to do active things in San Diego like going to the beach and hiking.
