Coach’s Choice!
Rx’d 102.
Thrusters UB 3/6/9 then 8/4, 6/5/4, & I can’t remember the rd of 18!
C2B UB 3/6 then 5/4, 4/4/4, 4/4/…. This is where my mind went dark.
Tried to stay smooth in the movements and not rush anything. Fran lung was in full effect.
Congratulations to everyone on completing the open! I’m going to go Rx on some ice cream tonight to celebrate!!
51 reps. Ouch.
18.5 RX
96 reps.
I wasn’t going whole hog. So I might redo Sunday and try to get 100 reps. We’ll see. 🙂
Woohoo girl…that’s some fine work! No video?? I promise not to yell at u! I’m hitting this Saturday. .hope to be in your range ! Congrats Janelle!
Thanks ?. I have a video, but since I plan to redo, I was going to wait to upload. ? You’re going to do awesome as per usual.! ?
Nice job, u’ll def get 100+ next go
Whoah janelle, atta girl! amazing work
Redo on Sunday. 103 reps. Much better. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jFymkMZq00M
A: 18.5 (scaled): 90 reps
Happy to finish the open with this effort. Definitely a PR, but not sure by how much.
B: Completed
Great job Mike…congrats!
A:18.5: 60 reps don’t have any 2.5s so worked off 105# and subbed C2B with strict PU
B: 10x45ft Sled push/pulls @ 180#
C: 10 minutes assault bike Tabata
Here’s to the weekend!
Great job Jared..that’s awesome that u subbed strict pull ups!
Power clean 1,2,2: 225(f about 10 reps , 205, 205
RDL 3×10: 205

10
6:30. My ring dips are shit.
Hey Eric…you just did 60 ring dips…right…stop with the negative shit talk man…they are a work in progress! The fact that u did them IS the shit to most ppl. Great work. ..chin up..be proud and remember each day is an opportunity for success!
Thanks for the pep talk!
I’m very grateful for what my body can do, but I always want to make it do better. I thrive on that negativity and over-criticism from myself
I’ll be sure to keep it off the board, though! ??
A. Work to heavy power clean
#295
B. Open 18.5
118 reps rx
Ub on thrusters
Ub on C2B until 12
Nice work … that’s a crazy Power Clean number dude.
Rob you smash it every time!!! ??
Damn…that’s incredible Rob…congrats!
great job rob!
18.5: 95 RX
Thrusters unbroken to 15s. CTB broke me.
Great job JT…congrats!
Unfortunately some last min work stuff came up so I was forced into doing this one on my scheduled off day. Playing a full soccer game a man down last night meant I had dead legs today ? so… 18.5 = 101 very tired looking reps. https://youtu.be/M98lvJee2N8 Hopefully I’ll get the chance to hit it again Sunday morning before jumping on a plane, but if not at least I have a score to put on the board. Great work everyone, it’s been fun, but the real season is the every day work that we all put in to encourage one… Read more »
101 is tough brother crazy on fatigued legs great job!
Thanks man, life doesn’t always throw us the perfect situation so glad to have he fitness to crank out some reps even when I’m not feeling it! You smoked it by the way!
Dude…you killed it! That looked GREAT…very smooth even after u started getting fatigued…what an inspiration! Congrats Mathew!
Thanks Candy, I had a whiteboard in front of me with my planned rep breakdown. It really helped, especially since I went into the workout not feeling it. I highly recommend it as mental plans that are not written down tend to quickly get forgotten when the pain sets in
What a great idea! I don’t have a whiteboard. ..but I have a chalk board! Thanks man! Btw…watching everyones videos is quite a thing in my house . I tend to count rest seconds and then start telling the person in the video it’s time to go…my daughter laughs at me.
Haha I’m sure you were saying that a lot watching my performance. Hoping to get a rested attempt in the wee hours of Sunday morning. My whiteboard
Ha! I do too! ESPECIALLY with myself. I’m like MOVE YOUR ASS! You’re not THAT tired! HURRRYYY!!! 🙂
That’s a really great idea – got yourself a double banger, got a great score and mentally toughed that out too
Amazing performance on little rest my friend! Looking solid. Great job going for it anyways. Also thanks for sharing the rep scheme plan. Mine looks a lot like that also!
Really admire your mental toughness to get this done when you didn’t expect it! Awesome score.
love your mental fortitude man, that’s a great score even if you don’t get to repeat it
Rx – 90… my thrusters were much better than CTB’s, if u can believe it… probably wasn’t the smartest to have done the scaled version of 18.3 Wednesday
Yeah wow….2 open wods 2 days apart…that’s rough! But I can say that 90 reps looks great…Joe…congrats!
Solid work my friend!!
Last night I watched Annie Thorisdottir hit 90 reps by the 2:40 mark hahahaha
100 reps. All c2b in sets of 3 quick singles (I can’t string them together without elbow pain) and thrusters unbroken except for round of 15 in 10/5. Sprinted through 10 reps in the last round in 20seconds.
Happy enough with my effort!
Might try to make up Thursdays powercleans later on the day if I have time/motivation
Great job Shaun…congrats!
Doing 18.5 tomorrow morning, I feel that this one is in my wheel-house, but again, I have not tried it yet. My best Fran time is 3:38, but that is 45 reps of each and only 95 lbs. Goal is to get through 12 all unbroken under 3:30, then go from there.
Today;
Every 3 for 15
– DL x 6 at 315 and 20 DU
8 Min AMRAP
– 5 PS – 115
– 10 Burpees
8 Min AMRAP
– Row 15kcal
– 30 KB swing – 50 lbs.
You got this!!!
Good luck Michael! Great work today as well!
That goal would set u up nice! Good luck brother
That’s definitely doable for you brother. I did three rounds of testing today and clocked in at 1’32”. If I kept at it I would definitely recommend going unbroken on the fourth round (12s) and then play it by ear from there.
Looking forward to seeing what you do tomorrow!
A. Rx 111 def was gunning for Chris M. Dang animal! Got 3 no reps and felt like puking at the end felt like I smoked a pack of menthol cigs doubt I will redo this well I guess I shouldn’t say that cus I have seemed to have lost self control ??♂️
After round of 15 you have basically completed Fran
Awesome bro!!! Also really good insight about Fran. To get an idea in my head for tomorrow, what round did you end in? And did you break up any rounds?
Thanks bro! I went thru set of 9/9 unbroken…broke c2b 8/4 on 12….set of 15-thruster 8/7 c2b 5/5/5…18-thruster 8/6/4 than 3 c2b….1 no rep on thruster and 2 on c2b….I mixed butterflies and Kipping as my butterflies fall apart quickly still….I think getting thru 18s is def there I hit the Fran right around 4 mins
Took me longer than 7 mins to recover after def regret going Rx+ at Burger King this morning…u got this teddy my advice is break on thrusters as least as possible energy picking the bar up is wasted imo
This is awesome stuff man, I appreciate the help! Your commentary cracks me up to, but why BURGER KING?! You could have at least did us all right and went to Micky D’s for two number twos with two hash browns and a side of OJ.
I LOVE double whoppers… with onion rings…
Fran + 5# and ctb… u killed it
That is correct and at 4:00 it def reflected as I was spent and a little over a minute off of my typical Fran…thanks brother!
Nice 111 Rx is impressive, I think the weight is going to get heavy quickly.
thank you! I felt the c2b frustrated me the most
Awesome performance! Crushed it, well done my friend
Thanks Joey good luck to u!
Great race – nice work.
Yea ur number stayed with me at the end when I wanted to lay down! Thank you
This is great Dustin…absolutely amazing work…congrats!
Thanks Candy!
18.5 as Rx 68 reps (strict C2B’s)
I also followed Jeremy’s model deciding to go Rx, even though I can only do strict C2B’s and it took longer than I wanted ?. I really wanted to get past the set of 15’s maybe even 18’s but, it did not work out that way ??.
Ctb’s killed me… i kipped… but it probably looks more like a wounded gazelle trying to escape crocodile jaws
Omg…too funny!
I think I found your gazelle sister and she really looks like the croc got her…lol..I posted my 18.5 – first attempt video in Saturday’s post.
Great job Jose…congrats!
Strategy session today, 45 kgs is less than my 50% on thrusters and I’ve trained them a lot this past year, so I’m very confident on my ability to attack them, C2Bs are another story entirely, I just recently acquired them in the toolbox so I have to be careful in not wasting energy and going into “no-rep” land like a maniac. After doing some testing, my game plan is to go with a slow and steady pace unbroken in the 3, 6 and 9 sets of thrusters then do 8/4 on the round of 12; C2Bs are going to… Read more »
That sounds like a really achievable goal. When I woke up this morning, I felt confident: ‘I can get to the round of 18’. After the first set of thrusters during warmup: ‘I think I can get through half of the round of 15’. Final result: ‘Just got to the round of 15’.
Feeling confident on the thrusters is great! By pacing it I am sure you will get over 60! Good luck!
Sounds like a great plan Jorge. You got this!!
also, just published my 18.4, foul language guaranteed https://youtu.be/Vp1rzqtLCyY
I know u will do very well on this Jorge…good luck!
Decided to go RX for this one, first time.
I hate thrusters and I am not great at C2B.
60 reps. Wanted to get to 75 but hey, I will take it.
This workout is as bad as it looks :).
Possibly worse than it looks…? Anything starting with 3 of each can’t be bad right? Hah!
Glad to see you put your dislike aside and just went for it…amd you did GREAT Jeremy…congrats!
great work jeremy, it does look bad but at least it’s the poison we chose
Great work man!
Way to Rx!!! U picked a helluva wod to Rx!
Good work, got to Rx this one.

You got this – new chapter.
this will be your wod hermano, moving past the trauma is tough but as chris said, you got this
Congrats on the PR Teddy! I’ll drink to new memories. ..u will do great!

Nice PR, ready to 18.5 tomorrow as well.
Open WOD 12.5 as Rx: 97
Open WOD 18.5 as Rx: 111 (14 Rep PR)
… happy with the result – C2Bs functioned as the gate keeper (as usual) – took awhile to recover from this one – light Fran cough to remind me of my 7th completed Open. Good luck folks – great work and have a awesome weekend.
Great improvement Chris!
Good work! Where did you find your old 12.5 score? Or did you have it written down in a journal?
Journal – I’ve got entries entries dating back to 2008 – first Rx Fran in 2008 was a few seconds less than 13 minutes
Proud of you brother. Way to lead the Invictus Pack as always. I’m looking forward (kind of?) to chasing your numbers all over again this year ??♂️???
amazing job chris, always an inspiration to see your results
Very impressive as always Chris! Congrats on the amazing PR! Would love to know where you end up this year in the Open!
Smoked it! Congrats on the PR!!
Nice way to finish off the Open! Congrats on once again an awesome performance
