Event Rules:
Events 6-8 will be on a running clock. Event 6 will be scored as the total time the event takes for completion. If the athlete does not complete the event within 4 minutes then the event will be scored as 4:00 plus the number of repetitions not completed (i.e., if an elite athlete completes 7 chest-to-bar pull-ups then the athletes score would be 4:03 – indicating they were 3 pull-ups short of finishing event 6).
Event 7 will start when the running clock reaches 4:00. Athletes have 6 minutes to complete Event 7 within the time cap. If the athlete does not complete Event 7 before the running clock reaches 10:00, then the total time will be 6:00 plus the number of repetitions not completed – i.e., if an athlete completes 5 chest-to-bar pull-ups then their score would be 6:15).
Event 8 will start when the running clock reaches 10:00. There is no time cap for Event 8.
Movement Standards:
Bar Muscle-Ups: The athlete must begin with, or pass through, a hang below the bar with arms fully extended and feet off the ground. Kipping the muscle-up is acceptable, but pullovers, rolls to support or glide kips are not permitted. The heels may not rise above the height of the bar during the kip. At the top, the elbows must be fully locked out while the athlete supports himself or herself above the bar with the shoulders over or in front of the bar. Athletes must pass through some portion of a dip to lockout over the bar.
Kettlebell Snatch: At the top, the kettlebell must come to full lockout overhead with the hips, knees and working arm fully extended, and the kettlebell directly over the middle of the body. The kettlebell must “turn over” to rest on the back of the forearm and must pass below the hips at the beginning of each rep. The first rep of a set may be taken directly overhead from the ground, but successive reps need only to pass below the hips.
Handstand Walk: Athletes will begin at the starting line and will walk 25-feet on their hands without their feet touching the ground. If any portion of the athlete’s body other than their hands makes contact with the ground before the athlete has crossed the next designated segment lines, they must return to the last segment line that they successfully crossed. Elite division and 40-49 division segment lines will be every 25-feet; RX division and 50-54 division segment lines will be every 5-feet.
Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups: In the bottom position the athlete’s elbows must be fully extended. In the top position the athlete’s chest must make clear contact with the pull-up bar. Any style of chest-to-bar pull-up (strict, kipping, butterfly) is allowed so long as these requirements are met on every repetition.
Overhead Walking Lunges: Each overhead lunge begins with the weight overhead, the feet together, and the athlete standing tall. The trailing knee must make contact with the ground at the bottom of each lunge. The weight must remain overhead for the duration of the repetition. The rep ends with the weight still overhead and the athlete standing tall with the hips and knees fully extended. Both legs must be fully extended if the athlete chooses to step through at the top. The athlete must alternate which foot leads for each rep.
Rowing on Concept 2: The Concept 2 ergometers will be set for meters. Athlete must stay seated until the monitor shows that the athlete has reached the prescribed number of meters.
Box-Facing Burpee Box Jump-Overs: In the bottom position, the athlete’s chest and thighs must be simultaneously touching the ground. Each burpee must be performed perpendicular to and facing the box. The athlete must jump over the box from both feet – one-footed jumping or stepping over is not permitted. Both of the athlete’s feet must pass over the top of the box – the athlete cannot swing the trailing leg around the side, and no portion of the athlete’s body other than his/her feet may touch the box. Athletes may jump on and off the box, or may elect to jump over it in one movement. Either is fine. A repetition is complete every time the athlete lands on the opposite side of the box from where the burpee was performed.
Box-Facing Burpee Box Step-Overs: The athlete is allowed to step onto the box. Both of the athlete’s feet must pass over the top of the box.

Event 6: 2:42
Event 7: 5:38
Event 8: 9:08
A, 9:25 BMU felt great. Probably rested to long before hand stand walk but wanted to make. These felt good.
6 3:24 UB CTB
7 6:08 Died 8/4
8. 11:41 includes not realizing you were suppose to go on regardless of getting capped. So probabaly 1-1:30 was reading the blog and thing Oh crap I did it wrong. 5/5/5.. not sure
Overall pretty happy with this considering how bad my grip felt for CTB
5. 11:13. Mixed bag. Made decision to do 24 single BMUs because cycling them bothers right shoulder. It slowed me a lot. The good news is those 24 were immaculate. Travis’ cue of bringing the knees to the bar is pure gold. HS Walks – first 25′ was fine. Last 50′ – total sh!tshow. Need to get back to the progressions. Haven’t been doing Saturday’s programming and it shows.
6. 2:59
7. 5:55
8. 10:03. This last one was not fun.
I’d rather take immaculate in a fun competition then wrecking your shoulders for the upcoming cycle!
Amen to that! In my 20s I would have disagreed, but being old brings at least a modicum of wisdom. 🙂
Speaking of wrecked…I just saw Event 11. Pure evil!
You will do great with Event 11!! Rest up those shoulders tonight!
Nicole- Im pretty sure I didnt log in yesterday.. I got injured on Friday. Something is wrong with my lower back and my left ankle. Also my shoulders are bothering me .. I have a history with them both. the hips is a bit serious. Im going to get them check out as soon as I can .. Id like to continue to do as much as I can until I cant.. if that is ok.. Dec 18th – yesterday Event#1. 188 lbs Event#2 : Rx’d 125lbs x 10rps Event #3 32 cals EVENT#4. 9;46 Dec 19 – todays Event#5-… Read more »
Yikes… sorry to hear about the injuries. Hopefully you get some therapy going to those areas.
Thanks Jean! <3
I appreciate your concern always- I hope that therapy helps too ..from your lips to Gods ear!! XO thanks so much!! best of luck!! XOXOX
Oh no Lise – send me an email!
5: 13:10. No hand stand walks did assisted ( 4/4 mu 10/10/5 kB snatch)
6: 3:16
7: 5:43
8: 8:13
5. 12:42 – BMU’s was not working…:-(
6. 3:37
7. 6:15
8. 22:32 (i.e. 10:00 rolling clock + 12:32) – I ended with C2B singles
Event 5 – no score – just cannot get a BMU… I’m so frustrated… 🙁
Event 6 – 4:02
Event 7 – 6:08
Event 8 – 9:03
Was trying out WodNDones, but I just can’t get a good grip on the bar with anything other than my bare hands. So was struggling with the C2Bs in the first two rounds. Finally took them off for the last round, which was much better.
You will get it Silke! I am sorry today wasn’t the day but I have so much confidence in you that you will have them soon enough!
I know I will. Something’s gotta click eventually. I know I have the strength. I’m just lacking the technique. I’ve literally watched every BMU tutorial on the internet there is. I DREAM about doing BMUs. I’m literally obsessed with it…lol. I made a promise to myself 4 months ago when I started the Invictus programming that I would go into the Open being able to do all movements, and I will!
Film some more of your BMU and send them over!
Will do tomorrow!
5. 9:45. I was tempted to do the cartwheel thing but couldn’t bring myself to do it 🙂
HS Walks slowed me down. And second set of BMU was 2 then 1’s.
First set was good, 4/3/2/1/1/1
6. 3:23
7. 6:09
8. 10:26
Rows were rough.
What kind of split times should I be aiming for on sets like this?
Gosh for these events, I’d say slow down your regular splits so if you normally row a 1:50 500, I’d shot for a 1:57-2:00 (if that makes sense)
So the good and the bad. Man that was nasty. In a good way of course. Or maybe IM still a bit delusional? I don’t know what it is but the AB and BBJO both make me dizzy as hell. Definitely know where my biggest weakness is coming into next year right now. Event 5- 7:12- This is the first time in over a month to a month and a half that Ive actually did more than 2 BMUs and I actually strung sets of 4 together! Not blazing fast but pretty happy with this one. HS Walks felt strong.… Read more »
Great work Corey!!! I am SO HAPPY with your BMU!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Nice work Corey. Event 5 went well!
Thanks! I was pretty happy with the BMUs. Snatch was a bit slower than I’d like. Today’s scares me though. I’ll see how it goes. Your killing it. Keep it up.
Took a pic of my board due to all my mods 🙂 But db presses and plank work from the fitness side. Then made mods as follows for these wods. Subbed c2b vs mu Piked on box shld taps vs hs walks Reg pullups vs c2b Airdyne with arms only vs burpees (i almost did 1 leg burpees, but was afraid id accidently land on my bad calf) I found 1 leg rowing sucks!!! I tried the medball trick, only to realize it was actually better to just rest my heel on the top of the foot rest and not… Read more »
Great training day!!

I didn’t realize what one person on the blog meant they redlined in round 2 and didn’t even do part 3 until I was closing out my set of C2B. It escalated quick.
Fantastic work Brent!
Not bad but have a lot of work to do. Burpees are not where they should be.
great times!

Event8: 10:18
Event 5 – 4:00 – Only had to re-grip on the last set of C2B’s, otherwise UB. Just missed getting under 4:00. Event 6 – 3:26 Rowed controlled on the 500. I think it paid off on the 750 and the 1000. The paces were pretty close. 2:02, 2:05 and 2:07.5. Event 7 – 5:15 UB on the Pull-ups, I think? Event 8 – 7:14 Broke up the Pull-ups 10 – 5 – 5. On the whole, happy with how things went today. Seemed to have recovered from yesterday’s challenging events. Didn’t have a chance to post yesterday. Very surprised… Read more »
Great work Barry!!!!
Thanks Nicole!
blazing! nice work Barry!
Event 5- 6:42 BMU 4/4/2/2, KB alt every 5, HS walk 25’ x 2, 20’/5’, KB Alt every 5, BMU (2/2/2/singles) Event 6: 3:12 (1:55 row, 5/3/2 on C2B, borrowed grips and they didn’t work. Ugh) Event 7- 6:02 (cap + 2 C2B) (3:30 row, C2B 7/3/3/2/2/1…) Event 8- 11:05 (probably started rowing at 10:15, 4:35 row, plan was to do 5’s on C2B. With 12 to go, my arms were done. It literally took :20 to get my last rep because my body couldn’t figure out the kip. The most frustrating way to end a wod) ? It amazes… Read more »

Thanks Rob! You too!
Hi! Haven’t posted in awhile but I have been doing the programming for about a year and a half. Great job everyone so far and I appreciate how supportive you are of each other. 5) Made it to the second round of bmu but tore left hand on first round and tore right hand on the second rep of the second round so I did not complete. But I do feel like 14 bmu and 75 feet of handstand walking was progress for me. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to complete a workout like this. Obviously the hands were… Read more »
Great job Beth!! Take care of those hands 🙂
I entered a 0 for event 5 but that put me in first so I just resubmitted as zero. Let me know if that is not correct.
I changed it – thanks Beth 🙂
that was technically difficult to complete! Awesome effort!
Event 5. 5:31. I did 55+ since I can’t do BMU in my garage. 55+ Reps too instead of 35-44. (25 snatches)
Then I had to go parent!
Love seeing everyone with PRs and accomplishments!
Great work Theresa!!
