Scheduling Note – If you plan to tackle the Open workout for the second time on Sunday, you are well advised to rest or do only some light circulatory work – like bicycling – on Saturday. If, on the other hand, you have the ability to perform 17.5 again on Monday and still submit your score before the deadline, I would suggest performing the workout below – or a reduced volume version of it, and then resting on Sunday.

Primary Training Session
A.
Three sets, not for time, of:
500 Meter Row
3 Rope Climbs (15′)
Strict Handstand Push-Ups x Max Reps*

*A set terminates at any point you pause longer than one breath when your at full extension or when your head is on the mat.

B.
Four sets of:
Bench Press x 4-5 reps
Rest as needed

C.
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 20 minutes of:
Run 400 Meters
30 Kettlebell Swings (32/24 kg)
8/6 Muscle-Ups

Optional Additional Work Sessions

Strongman Training Option

A.
Two sets, for max weight, of:
50-Foot Yoke Carry
(needs to be at least your 1-RM back squat weight; good goal would be as high as 150%; wear a belt – this is not just for support, but also gives you something to press your obliques against and teaches athletes how to brace properly)

B.
Two sets for max weight of:
150-Foot Farmer’s Carry
(turn every 50-feet)

If you make the entire distance without dropping on the second set, stand stationary at the end holding the handles until you can no longer hold the load.

C.
Three sets for max weight of:
150-Foot Harnessed Sled Pulls
Rest 60 seconds

Rest 3 minutes, and then…

D.
Three sets for max weight of:
150-Foot Reverse Sled Drags
Rest 60 seconds

Rest 3 minutes, and then…

E.
Three sets for max weight of:
150-Foot Sled Sprints
Rest 60 seconds

C. 5 rounds (russian kb-swings. MU’s: unbroken)
Did 17.5 on Friday. My time: 9:18. (unbroken).

Taking it easy today, will have to re-do17.5, right calf pulled up pretty sore and also hit up a ninja warrior course yesterday so shoulders pretty tired so at a pretty steady pace did:

30 KB Russian swing 32kg
8 + 10 cals

Looking forward to a new year of training! I start PT school on May 30th and I’m not quite sure how I’m gonna balance that and training though haha

You’ll make it work and find a schedule that works for you. Make sure you optimise your time in the gym and not try and cram in to much along with making sure recovery is dialled in. As always we’re here to guide and help.

Thanks Tino, I’ll definitely need some help with it. If I have to skip a part of a workout I always feel like I’m wasting a day of training, so it will be difficult. I may send my schedule for the summer to you once I get it just to get some general advice for approaching each day if that’s okay?

At my friends house in Mississippi. Bought a 150lb D-ball on the way down.

Did 50 Dballs over shoulder. Every 5 over shoulder do a 25m bear hug carry.

Then did 5-10-15-20-25-30-25-20-15-10-5 UB DUs

what did MR JOSH Bridges got haha

I have been able to do the last 2 open workout .4 and .5, when I have been able to push my self I have gotten good score, top scores, I fck hate that my lats ruined everything the first 3 been easily be in top 30 in europe hate this arrrrrrrg
