Congratulations Masters Athletes Moving On to the CrossFit Games!

Congratulations Masters Athletes Moving On to the CrossFit Games!
Written by Nichole DeHart

Some of you may be aware that the Masters Qualifiers wrapped up just one week ago. For those of you who may not follow the competitive side of CrossFit, the Qualifier weekend is a huge event for Masters athletes.

Let me explain the lead up to this past Masters Qualifiers. The CrossFit Open started February 26th 2015. Workouts are released weekly for 5 weeks (a total of 5 events; one event had two components). Athletes were ranked per their region and the top 20 athletes in each region secure a spot to Regionals. Masters athletes (40 years of age and up) also had to complete those same workouts. Depending on their age division, the movements may be changed or the weights adjusted accordingly. Masters athletes were then ranked by their age division. The top 200 male and top 200 female athletes in each age division secured their spot to compete in the Masters Online Qualifiers.

This brings us to about one week ago, when the Masters Qualifier was kicked off. The Masters had to complete four events over the course of four days. The top 20 male and female athletes, after the 4 events, secured their spots to the 2015 CrossFit Games. We had many Masters follow our Masters Qualifier Prep Program or work individually with our coaches on the lead up to the Qualifier weekend. We saw much success with our athletes over the course of the weekend and were very impressed with how well each athlete embodied the Invictus mindset of ‘’full effort is full victory.’’ Many of our Masters athletes set new personal records, accomplished things they never thought possible and showed not only their physical strength but also strength of character.

We are beyond proud of all the Masters athletes who we were blessed to assist along the way. We are extremely excited to announce that we have 18 Masters athletes headed to the 2015 CrossFit Games. Please join me in congratulating the athletes below:
